Omamori's are Japanese amulets that are generally sold in Japan's temples. The word "Mamori" means protection and is generally kept inside the bag.
Komainu (狛犬), often called lion-dogs in English, are statues of lion-like creatures either guarding the entrance or the honden, or inner shrine of many Japanese Shinto shrines. They are known as protectors of sacred sites and symbolise protection against evil times.
Behind the charm translates to "drive safe", to remind you to stay safe on the road as well as keeping others in mind.
